By The Bay is 310km north of Auckland. It is accessed via State Highway 1 which runs north from Auckland then onto State Highway 10 along the scenic east coast of New Zealand. By The Bay is just one hour north of the Bay of Islands or four hours north of Auckland and is just minutes from the picturesque historic whaling and fishing village of Mangonui. There are several daily flights to the Bay of Islands Airport(66km) and Kaitaia Airport(35km). Both have direct connections to and from Auckland domestic airport by Air New Zealand Link. If you wish to travel by plane, hire cars can be arranged from either airport or we can arrange to meet your flight.
